Imperial Oil (IMO) Is Gushing Free Cash Flow

Imperial Oil (IMO) Is Gushing Free Cash Flow

After mid-June, we witnessed a pullback in the share price of integrated oil and gas companies. I consider this pullback as a buying opportunity and explain in my July 7, 2022 Imperial Oil (IMO) Is Gushing Free Cash Flow guest post at Dividend Power why I am increasing my exposure to significant industry participants. Rather than having exposure to this Calgary, Alberta headquartered company, however, I am raising my exposure to Exxon Mobil Corporation (XOM) which owns 69.6% of IMO.

The major oil and gas producers will likely be awash in Free Cash Flow over the foreseeable future. However, senior management at these companies is well aware they must adapt to a changing world.

I highly encourage you to listen to interviews with XOM’s CEO. The interviews are lengthy but worthy of your time if investing in the Oil and Gas sector piques your interest.

In addition, any investor remotely interested in investing in the oil and gas sector is encouraged to listen to 2 industry experts discuss falling inventories, OPEC spare capacity, $180 oil, and their outlook for energy stocks in this June 27, 2022 Oil and Energy update.

Final Thoughts

I expect my existing holdings in the oil and gas industry will very likely generate attractive total investor returns for at least the next 5 years. Given my outlook, I periodically add to my Chevron (CVX), XOM, and Enbridge (ENB.to) positions; CVX and XOM are within my top 20 holdings as per my recent Mid 2022 Investment Holdings Review.

Posts regarding these companies are accessible in the FFJ Archives.

I wish you much success on your journey to financial freedom!
